Alliance Pipeline is a proud supporter of the About Face (Cops for Kids) program, which is managed as a partnership between the Impact Society for Children and Youth
and the Calgary Police Service. With a three-year, $75,000 commitment in place, Alliance Pipeline is the lead supporter of the program, which reaches over 54,000 youth via
education sessions in Calgary schools.
The About Face (Cops for Kids) program began as a set of strengths based interactive workshops to offer leadership training as an alternative to destructive conduct, targeting at-risk and high-risk youth. This program focuses on safety through crime prevention, by educating elementary, junior and senior high school classes on the importance of making safe and positive choices, which resonates with Alliance Pipeline's commitment to safety in our communities.
This initiative aims to specifically help students learn to recognize behaviours that can be destructive to themselves and their community, and to make wise choices that enhance their potential for success in all facets of their life. In addition, this program encourages students to gain and develop leadership strategies for problem solving and positive decision making, while simultaneously developing confidence, self-esteem and motivation.
The program is delivered throughout the city of Calgary to both schools and first-time young offenders, and is credited with a major reduction in unsafe youth behavior.
