Starting December 1, 2015, Alliance will deliver its customers an innovative new suite of pipeline transportation services. These new services are designed to meet the evolving needs of today’s natural gas shippers and markets.
While this is a big change for Alliance, one thing that is not changing is our focus on safety. Safety is always our first priority and we remain resolutely committed to protecting the safety of everyone living or working near our pipeline system.
An example of this is the fact that our new tolls (fees customers pay to utilize our services) contain a provision to ensure that pipeline integrity costs, even if higher than forecast, are adequately funded. Alliance has one of the best safety records in the industry, and we want to keep it that way.
We’ll also maintain our health and safety management system, which has been an integral part of our exemplary safety record. Our damage prevention and public awareness efforts to will also continue to ensure that those working around our system do so with the same care that we employ.
Alliance’s new services relate to the commercial aspect of Alliance’s business, and so will not impact our safety focus or the community. In fact, while our new services capitalize on Alliance’s ability to ship natural gas liquids within the gas stream, that is something Alliance has always done in keeping with our original regulatory approvals. We will continue to operate within those same regulated parameters under the new services offering.
Stakeholders can have confidence that Alliance will continue to run the very safe and professionally-operated natural gas pipeline we always have.
