Alliance's Health and Safety Management System (HSMS) is a comprehensive system of policies, programs and procedures developed to manage health and safety issues related to pipeline operation.
Management and Leadership
Alliance's executives and senior management are all involved in the Health, Safety and Environment Management committee, providing direction and setting safety policy for Alliance employees. The Safety Policy Committee, which includes representatives from Canada and the US, helps create policies and procedures, identify potential hazards, and set action plans to minimize those hazards.
Training and Awareness
Alliance employees regularly attend safety training, which covers topics including protection against falls, first aid, defensive driving and firefighting. Additional "lunch and learn" sessions cover other health and safety topics.
Incident Communications Tool (ICT)
This online reporting system is used to report incidents, potential hazards, abnormal operation, investigation information and follow-up action items.
Reviews and Audits
Internal reviews and third-party audits help ensure we comply with government regulations, our Health & Safety policy, and the HSMS.
